Any other methods to safely stop a simulation?

I can't seem to stop a transient simulation by clicking stop via the solve interface or right clicking and stopping via the solution monitor.  I see the "Stop button selected.  The analysis will stop at the end of the current iteration." Then it just marches on to the next iteration.  Ideas?

Are you using the desktop or Flex/360 version of the product?

I am using the 2015 desktop version.  I have been running a transient analysis with 1 second time steps and 5-10 inner iterations.  Does it have to finish an entire time step before stoping or is an inner iteration a valid stopping point as well?

It should stop after all the inner iterations finish for that specific timestep.  Is that what you are seeing?
