Architectural and Structural Hatch Patterns

Can anyone point me to an industry standard for hatch patterns for
section cuts that denote various materials?

Ideally I am hoping for a txt file of all the patterns but I believe I
can work with a series of .pat files.

I'm also looking for something similar for architectural patterns.
Ideally something relatively minimal and disciplined as opposed to the
loosey-goosey cad patterns I see on some of the builder sets.

Thanks.

Architectural Graphic Standards and similar over-priced "bibles" include such documentation. If you are kept broke and can't

afford what is now over $100 to purchase that kind of trash from their

publisher John Wiley we still have these thingies called a public library

you should consult.

Anybody know if this stuff is available online in a CAD format? I'm
actually using it for some 3D software.

I'm not looking for anything specific just metal, plastic, hard
insulation, soft insulation, etc, etc and would like to use some kind of
hard core industry standards.

On or off-list on this is great.

chertok22 at the google mail.

Thanks.

One industry standard would be the NCS. I think you have to create them yourself from pictorials shown in the supplied PDF after purchasing.

Also check here, you might find some other useful CAD standards info.

Your best bet would be to develope your own standards and document what they are.
