Research is a vital component of Autodesk’s drive for innovation and discovery. To develop products our customers value, your ongoing participation and collaboration have helped us curate an exemplary customer research culture and experience and help you shape the future of your Autodesk experience.
Customer Research
As part of this drive for innovation, we launched the Autodesk Research Community (ARC), to create a community that would appeal to a wider range of our customers across all product divisions, from AutoCAD, Revit, Fusion 360, Forge amongst others.
Today we serve over 10,000+ members who participate in strategic research, evaluating product or feature ideas prior to development, as well as usability testing for specific products and cross-product workflows.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE AUTODESK RESEARCH COMMUNITY
- Receive invite-only real-time, 1 on 1, feedback opportunities and personalized engagement with the Autodesk teams building your experiences
- Participants who provide feedback in these sessions may receive a thank you gift card as a token of gratitude, and opportunities to receive company swag and enter competitions.
- All professional levels and backgrounds are welcomed to provide an equal voice in product and service development.

The benefit of creating our own community platform through our partner Alida, ensures a fully data compliant service in line with GDPR regulations. Offering complete privacy for the customer’s contact information and automatic sign up to a 5-year NDA (non-disclosure agreement and CRAs (customer research agreement) to protect sensitive information.
Our Member Hub provides a communications platform to share back our research findings, help us bring together the customers and research teams more directly and encourage discussion and interaction with other community members and teams.
Today’s Success
We are excited about our plans to build a more robust, engaging and collaborative community for a world-class customer research experience and can move forward with some great feedback.
Our annual Customers Satisfaction Survey reported that:
- 70% of all customers were happy with our community experience.
- 74% of customers specified they are keen to learn more about our products, services and ideas.
- 59% of customers felt they were contributing to decisions by their participation in the community – this is a 24% increase from the previous year.
In September 2021, the Autodesk Research Community was an Alida Delta Award Winner for the excellent customer engagement experience it has developed. And we’re in good company, with brands such Adobe, J.Crew and HBOMax also receiving recognition.
