Desktop Connector Not Working

Hope someone can me help here.

I am unable to start Desktop Connector on my laptop and heading away on business so getting worried as I need it working as there are many linked cad files in my Revit model that are stored on desktop connector and pathed there. It has all been set up on my PC which works really well with Desktop Connector.

I have done extensive searching online but to no avail. The service says it is running but there is no icon in the taskbar tray to click on. I have tried starting Autodesk\Autodesk Desktop Connector but nothing.  I have stopped the service and restarted it, restarted the laptop etc etc. I have spent many hours trying to sort this today but would really appreciate some help. Using version 5.0.0.593

I have tried uninstaling it but I am unable to do this as I get an error 0x80070643 - Fatal error during installation

Thanks Blair.

Yao,

It appears that you are experiencing a CER that may be caused by permissions on a file.

Can you check the permissions on a file: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CDX\FileSystemMonitorConfiguration.xml.

Right click -> properties -> go to the security tab.

If Authenticated Users do not have access to the file, can you grant them Full Control over that file.

Thanks,

IT just changed the permission on C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CDX\FileSystemMonitorConfiguration.xml. I'll see if that worked.

Thanks

This worked for about a day, until I had to reboot. Now it's giving me the same error message.

Whenever I have this problem I right click on desktop connector, hit exit and then restart it from windows start, Autodesk, Autodesk connector. Works fine then but it does have constant stability issues from my experience.

Hi, I have tried everything up to the step of the Config renaming in this post below and am still having issues with my BIM360 sign-in. I cannot sign-in to the Desktop Connector and have lost my BIM360 route drive in window after uninstalling DC.

I have attached the screenshot and error report submission to the Autodesk as well as the DC diagnostics log after the error.

I am running the Desktop Connector Version 14.0.0.1063 on Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1909.

Please help.

Check your anti virus. Make sure that the desktop connector tray.exe file is allowed. If that’s ok then contact Autodesk to sync your account. Your data is safe.

Hi I have checked the antivirus and there seems to be no issues, who can I chat to in Autodesk to sync my account?

Do you have a partner who deals with your licensing. They can raise a case with Autodesk to ensure you are an active user in the BIM360 account. Do you have access to the web portal or is that gone also?

@Govindenb did you get this resolved? I could have a look for you if you want?

I have managed to find a workaround for my issue, however its a bit of a frustrating scenario as i need to go through this routine every day.

The issue was and is a TCP error (See screenshot attached)where DC only wants to utilize the 51001 socket that is already being used by our company corporate network adapters.

Can I request, if possible that Autodesk programs the DC in the next build to choose the next available socket on startup instead of only looking for the 51001.

Thanks
