Will the BIM 360 sixty day trial apply to those who previously used a trial?

Since Autodesk is offering a free 60 day trial of BIM 360 Design and Docs as a response to COVID-19 work from home demands, will those that previously used a trial be eligible for this benefit?  It would only make sense wipe the slate clean and allow all to submit for a trial during this time.

@mpetrucci

In the resource you provided there is nothing addressing those that may have an expired BIM 360 trial that would like to register for the new extended trial. In testing this, as of yesterday, a user like this who registers with their current Autodesk ID is denied access to another trial.  They are forced to create a new Autodesk ID to access another BIM 360 trial.  This causes an issue with accessing their current software that is licensed with their original Autodesk ID, which will be problematic for those needing to use Revit with the BIM 360 trial. Reassigning software licenses to accommodate this issue is counter productive.

The new trial will be available tomorrow according to the link I provided. The following is from the link I provided....

To take advantage of this program, you will need to access a trial from the links below and follow the steps to initiate the trial.

  • BIM 360 Design (available 5:30 p.m. PST, Wednesday, March 25th, 2020)
  • BIM 360 Docs (available 5:30 p.m. PST, Wednesday, March 25th, 2020)

And

  • What if I already have a BIM 360 Docs trial – will my trial get extended if I participate in this program?

Yes, existing BIM 360 Docs trials will be extended until the program end date of May 31, 2020.

...and as I am understanding, if their prior trial is EXPIRED they will NOT have the ability to reactive their trial access, they will need to register with a new Autodesk ID to use this new extended trial.  This is the issue I am speaking of, thanks.

Hi @joleneobrion

Yes, you are correct. Please see this article for specific FAQs related to BIM 360 Design and the Extended Access trials: Extended Access Program: Questions and answers. Taken from that article:

  • What if I have trialed BIM 360 Design previously?
Currently, a one-trial-per-email restriction is in place. This applies to those customers who may have had a BIM 360 Design or Collaboration for Revit trial in the past.

I hope that helps answer your question! If so, please click the "Accept Solution" button so that others may benefit from  your question as well. Thank you!

Hi,

I'm a fire safety engineer and have recently started working on BIM environment.  I would like to use BIM360 Docs, Design and Glue. however, I can only access trial version of Docs. Even if I use the link for trial version of BIM 360 Design, it redirects me to BIM360 Docs. Could you please advise me on that.

Thanks,

Soheila

This like will get you to Design... https://bim360.autodesk.com/bim-360-design-trial/?_ga=2.54745067.1977579437.1585574739-482323608.151...

The Extended Access Program for Cloud Collaboration Products* applies to only Docs and Design. It does not apply to BIM 360 Coordinate/Glue.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your question! You can also check to see which trials you have signed up for by logging into manage.autodesk.com and selecting "Trials" from the menu on the left-hand side.

I hope that helps!

Thanks @renata.demuro ,

You can find the trial page in the attachment. IT doesn't even include the BIM360 Docs that I', using now.

I would like to say thank you to @mpetrucci, but the link again directs me to BIM 360 Docs. In fact it asks me to sign up, and when I fill in my credentials it goes to Docs. I mean in the services I can only see Document management and nothing more.

Hi @Anonymous,

To confirm: you are able to access a BIM 360 site, but you can only access the Document Management module and you do not see access to Design Collaboration. Is that correct?

What if you go to Project Admin > Services > Overview. Do you see Design Collaboration available to activate

Thanks for letting me know!

Hi @renata.demuro ,

Yes, that's true. I have only Document management option. You can see it in the attachment.

Hi @Anonymous,

In one of your screenshots you showed that the BIM 360 Design trial does not show up in the Trials area of your Autodesk Account. Is the email address shown in that screenshot the same one you are using to login to the BIM 360 website?

I can check on this if you provide me the BIM 360 Account ID and the email address that you used to sign up for the BIM 360 Design trial. You can send this information to me via private message (hover over my username and click "Send private message").

Thank you in advance!
