resaling BIM Collaborate licence

I have a partner who wants to charge us fees to use his ACC BIM Collaborate Pro licence. They bought an unlimited package from Autodesk. The problem is that they are billing us double price as Autodesk.

Of cours we wont accept it but I'm wondering are they allowed to do this ?

Technically he is not reselling his license to you; It is still his. Leagally there is nothing which explicitly prohibts him from charging people for offering a certain service, part of which a subscription license seat to access Cloud workshared models. He could justify the extra charges under so many reasons, such as management, support, procurement administration...etc.

The subscription itself is not really that expensive  ca 95$/month and it is not really something which is worth making profit from

Regardless, you are not compelled to take his offer, you can always bring your own license with you

Hi,

I can't speak about your partner's unlimited licenses, but in the long run I really think you should get your own account and licenses. You will want to keep a single account with all your future projects on your own ACC. Also, if you don't need to model in Revit, you don't need a collaboration PRO license, but an ACC collaboration will suffice.
