Good question, under settings - navigation, the minimap can be turned off. But when you open a plan again, the minimap is there again.. that's annoying. A permanent solution would be nice.
I agree and have sent this into the Support team previously who advised it had been issued to the Product Team as a potential change they may incorporate. No update so far.
IMO, if you don't include a map in your game then your level design needs to be more legible. I'm at the snow valley and I'm kinda sick of exploring it https://mobdro.bio/ .
