LINKED REVIT FILES IN BIM 360 DOCS

Hi

I am currently downloading the latest source file of coordination drawings from our consultant from BIM360. The product is a zip file which contains the revit file I  need..... along with every single one of the linked backgrounds they used. This takes a very long time.

Is there a way to download the source file I need without downloading every linked file they had loaded when they published the revit file to BIM360?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

Thank you for your question. My name is Bogdan, I am with Autodesk Technical Support. and I will try to clarify this for you.

When a model is published, if any linked models are High Trust (directly linked from the source folder) and the latest version of the linked model is not published, Revit Cloud Worksharing will include the linked models as a zip so that the extractor has all the data it needs.

If a newer version of the host model is published and the linked model version is already published then no zip is created.

So, to be able to download only the source file, the easiest way is to make sure the latest versions of the links and of the central file are published.

If this answered your question, thank you for clicking on Accept Solution so that other users can see it and benefit from it. If there is anything else let me know and I will be happy to help.

Best regards,

Bogdan

Our consultants have not updated their linked files, and they are still downloading with the revit file I am trying to pull content from.  I would like to verify if this solution works, but I am unable to until the links are updated by our consultant. I trust you are right.

Hi Bogdan,

I am having a similar problem however I am the one publishing the model and all of the linked files are being included when i don't want them to be.

Is there a work around or a way to fix this problem?

thanks

hi Bogdan and/or all others, I'm trying to replicate zip case so I can test Forge solution by Michael Beale (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02ChjbwLjUY) but in vain, both host and links are always RVT in BIM360 instead of ZIP, could anyone give me detailed steps how to replicate ZIP case instead of RVT case, thanks.
