Desktop Connector and MS Office opening performance

Hi All,

Another issue we have recently encountered in what seems to be following a Microsoft Office 365 automated (& regular) update.

Basically opening of any MS Office file type hosted on BIM 360 and opening via Desktop Connector is either failing to open or struggling with performance and can take hours to open. This is the same situation on multiple projects, hosted by different companies also. However, the issue seems to mainly affect users of my company, which is where and why i direct my theory of the cause to be aimed at Office 365 updates.

The is affecting multiples of users, has anyone else experienced or reported this? Any solutions?

I will also be reporting this to our company IT and have raised a service ticket with Autodesk

Thanks

Hi @richard_payne ,

If you are using Office 365 do you know you can edit the files directly through BIM 360 instead of locally on your machine when opening through the desktop connector? Details can be found in the BIM 360 help

Please click the Accept Solution button if my reply answers your question.

Hi Gareth, thank you for the reply.

Yes i am aware you can edit through the browser with 365, but this does not have full functionality and also our company uses a templafy template for the our standard layouts and the browsers does allow these elements to be edited in this way either.

Thanks
