Buzzsaw Migration to BIM 360 Docs

We currently use Buzzsaw for all project file storage and archiving.

When will folder drag and drop functionality be available in BIM 360 Docs?  Migrating from Buzzsaw to Docs right now involves recreating every single folder from Buzzsaw and then manually copying files over from each folder location.  As you can imagine, this will take forever to migrate all 200 plus projects within Buzzsaw to 360Docs.

Do you have an automated path yet to migrate from Buzzsaw to Docs?  If so, can you share that path?

Is there going to be a sync to local drive as well for Docs as there was in Buzzsaw?  We currently have to utilize another cloud based service to sync our background files to our modelers local drive.  In Buzzsaw, all this was automated.

Autodesk will provide a migration tool for Buzzsaw customers to move to BIM 360 Docs. This is still in the planning stage but we expect to announce further details in Q3.

As for your question regarding syncing of files in Docs, Please take a look at the knowledge article I've linked HERE for some info on this topic. While the feature differs from Buzzsaw Sync you'll see that some work has already been done in this direction. However, we always welcome feedback from users to enhance our products. If you have ideas on how to improve this feature, or others you'd like to see added, you can always post them to the BIM 360 Docs Idea Station linked HERE.

A migration tool for moving files from Buzzsaw to BIM 360 is currently under development and testing.  We will announce availability at a later date.

Any updates on this migration tool. I have recently dealt with a client who is trying to migrate all of his buzzsaw to BIM 360 docs and has an extremely complicated folders structure that differs on every project. Is their going to be a migration tool for BIM 360 team as they already have team at their disposal.

Buzzsaw disappears in 6 months.  When will the migration tool be available?  Also, has an auto sync feature been added to BIM 360 Docs, like the one in Buzzsaw?

I received an email back on May 14th telling me about the discontinuance of Buzzsaw. That's the only communication I've received. I would like to speak to a person ASAP who can answer questions about Buzzsaw vs BIM 360 Docs.



My client wants to make a decision about changing to BIM 360 Docs or to Box within the next couple of weeks.



One critical question is if BIM 360 Docs can auto sync selected folders with a desktop computer like Buzzsaw can.



If my client can't get his questions answered by Autodesk, he will change to Box.
