Autodesk Desktop Connector is shutting down. Access is denied

Hi,

Has anyone encountered this issue before? we have a number of users currently affected by this issue. Desktop Connector fails at startup. The workaround we found, is to open Revit, then Desktop Connector. That seem to bypass any 'security' issues.

Seems like it crashes when it tries to mount the BIM 360 drive. I've re-created the User Profile, it worked for a few days and now it's back again.

Error logs attached.

Morning @NikkoJ ,

There was a post last week with a similar problem which mentioned it is the latest update which was installed that is causing the crashing issues. See the following link.

Autodesk Desktop Connectore 15.1.0.1587 Crashing on Startup

Have you checked if the users have installed the latest update?

Hi Gareth,

No, we're currently on version 15.0.0.1540.

I think it maybe best to log a support case with Autodesk or contact your local reseller and see if they can help.

Hi @NikkoJ ,

Did you ever get a resolution on this one? We've had exactly the same problem with both versions 15.0 and 15.1

Cheers, Pete

Unfortunately not. There is a new official post recently, looks like they are aware. I have tried this but it didn't work for me.

Desktop Connector is failing upon system startup with "Access Denied" message

How did you get on at your end?

Bugger @NikkoJ

Yeah I tried the same instructions and got nowhere with it too

Will keep you posted if we managed to crack it

Cheers, Pete

Have a similar situation here. Upgraded a user from 14.13 to 15.0, and surprisingly he is the only user w/ this issue, have already performed clean install 3 times, so I'm wondering if this is a bug with the newer version or another component that ADC users.

Hi @Alejandro.OlmosMA6GF Yeah we run fine on 14.3 and as a result we have reverted back to that installer. v15.0 and v15.1 just don't work. We have found that if a user is not associated to any B360 project hubs then it's fine but when they are added to a project hub either by our own company or an external company we get the access denied error

Do you have any update on the matter? I am having the same issue, migrated from 14 to 15

This is what they told us.....

Thank you for the email. It is recommended to have all the user's on the same version. This issue will be fixed in the next release in the interim, if you are preparing to downgrade the desktop connector, please have all the users on the same version 14.x.

Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

I look forward to hearing from you. Have a wonderful day!

Not acceptable... I've asked for an ETA, will update this post once i get that info.
