Autodesk Desktop Connector - Can't see BIM 360 Docs, can see Team

I'm using Autodesk Desktop Connector 6.0.0.658.   I have access via my email user name to both BIM 360 Team and BIM 360 Docs hubs.  Theses are fully licensed (I work for a Platinum reseller)

At the moment, the Autodesk Desktop Connector only appears to be able to see the Team hub.  I can see any of the files within Docs.  When I go to Computer, I have A360 Drive and BIM 360 Team.  No mention of the next gen solutions.

I've tried uninstalling the connector and reinstalling, and also clicking on "Refresh Drives" within the connector software.

Is this expected behaviour?  I noted there may be a separate install, however the article on how to install appears to be down at the moment - https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/bim-360/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/ENU/BIM-360-Do...

Any help appreciated,

Hi Rob,

Have you installed the BIM 360 Docs plugin for Desktop connector?  You can find it here:

https://info.bim360.autodesk.com/desktop-connector

We are working on a unified installer that will bundle it with the Desktop Connector to get rid of this requirement, so this plugin will soon dissapear, but we wanted to enable preview users to get access and provide feedback sooner.

Hope this helps you get sorted.

Thank you for the reply.  Yes, it appears the issue was ultimately the additional add-in, although it didn’t work first time I installed it.  I have got it working now though – it’s seems as I had a previous version of the Connector because of BIM 360 Team that it wasn’t working.

For everybody’s benefit, these are the steps I took to get it working

  1. Uninstall any versions of Desktop Connector you have
  2. Navigate to the following location on your machine: "%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Desktop Connector\v4\Data Source Instances\".
  3. Delete the BIM 360 folder entirely.
  4. Restart your machine.
  5. Go to https://vignettes.autodeskplm360.net/vignettes/CDXToast/CDXToast.html and download the Desktop Connector for Windows 64 bit version
  6. Install
  7. Go to https://info.bim360.autodesk.com/desktop-connector and enter your email and download the extention.
  8. Install
  9. Right click on the “A” and go to sign in
  10. Enter your Autodesk credentials.
  11. Go to Computer > Other, and you should notice that you now have access to BIM 360 and (if applicable) BIM 360 Team
