Project Organization Suggestions

Has anyone attempted to organize projects by client in the BIM 360 file structure? What functionality would we lose by having the client be the "project" and each project be a folder under that client?

Many of the features are project specific. So depending on what features you want to use you will have models/drawings across multiple projects that have no relation to each other. Things will get too confusing.

Some project specific features that come to mind are:

• Permission management
• Users seeing other user's names and companies (i.e confidentiality)
• Locations
• Model Coordination
• Cost Management

Just to add to what @Chad-Smith said. You need to separate projects as their own and not host all your different client's information in the same project. This is my option will become a security and data protection issue. What if someone accidentally gives someone permission to the wrong folder giving them access to confidential information. 

Keep it straightforward by creating a project for each specific project and only host that project information with in.
