Mark-ups and issues on previous versions

Regarding BIM360 Document Issues and Mark-ups.

Dear all,

I encountered that mark-ups and issues placed on a previous version of a document are shown in the latest version of the document.

In the listing on the left side it's clearly shown that the issue or mark-up is related to a previous version.

In the view of the document itself, the mark-ups and issues are shown in the latest version. Whitch is pretty annoying, especially when the page order or orientiation of the new document version is different from the previous version.

Can someone help me out here? Is this a bug, or something i am doing or interpreting wrong?

If I understand you correctly, this is by design. If you place a markup or issue on a page and the markup or issue is not addressed or closed, you don't want the next version to hide a still open markup or issue.

If you don't want to see the markup or issue for a previous version, you will need to close, archive old markups or issues.

Hi Mark, and Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply. I was already afraid of getting the "works as designed" answer 😉

I agree that all open issues and mark-ups should still be visible in the listing of mark-ups and issues on the left side menu of the viewing-pane of the document. A mark-up should only be archived, and an issue closed, when the problem is really solved.

When for example an issue on version 1 is not solved in version 2, the issue should remain open.

My problem is that version 2 of the document sometimes (in our case often) has a complete other page order/layout than version 1 of the document. This means that the "pin" on the document appears on a totally wrong position in the new version of the document.

I would very much like and expect that the complete listing of document issues remains on the latest version of the document, but that the location identifier "pin" remains located on the version of the document on which it originated.

Hi @mpetrucci is there no way perhaps then for us to have some kind of button to highlight in a certain color Mark-ups that have been attended to so that the next reviewer easily sees what has been attended to and what hasn't? Thanks. @zains
