How to upload a federated model in Autodesk Docs

Hi, I'm currently a member from a Design company's BIM360 account, where they have the federated revit model from the project we are working on.

My company now has its own Autodesk Construction Cloud license (Build and BIM Collaborate Pro), where we are planning to upload all of the drawings and models shared by the Design company.

We are a Project Management company, so we don't use Revit. My question is, how can I upload the federated model into our ACC account? Beacuse, when I download the file, it comes in separated models, so we can't see the federated one.

Thanks in advance.

Those separated files are probably linked into a federated model or just all cross linked together. You may have to repath the links to the location that you chose to put them in.

Thanks for your answer. Can you explain to me in a more detailed way on how to do it?

Thanks in advance.

I could but I don't really know how the project was previously set-up to give an accurate answer. If you are at all familiar with Revit and linking projects together, it should be pretty easy to do by simply repathing the links.

Hint: Use Reload From.

Thanks for your answer, but as I wrote previously, we don't use Revit at
the company, so we don't know exactly how to link projects together, that
is why we need help with a specific explanation.

Do we need Revit for the upload? If that's the case, it will not work for
us then.

Thanks,

the issue here is the approach  - using 360 as a project management tool yet not having any of the teams on the platform

however, you can at least federate and invite others to use B360 Issues / communicate in the model.

Federate models for B360 web  / Desktop NW reviews

Upload individual files to B360 using the browser

to federate pull them thru to Model Coordination via a coordination space & assoc folder

you need to familiarize with B360 functionality to set this up, look up:

  • How to Publish 3D Views (request from the model authors) - at least one 3d view of each model published.
  • How to set up a Team (Design Collaboration)
  • How to set up and populate a Coordination Space
  • How to use B360 Saved views
  • How to use B360 & Desktop Navisworks via Model Coordinate

Sorry I cannot post a step by step but the cues above should get you going.

drop back with questions if needed.
