Drag - N - Drop Folder Structures

Please add the ability to drag-n-drop folder structures into Plans and Project Files, this would greatly simplify the setup of projects.

Preferably without the need to have files contained within these folders.

Hi Andy,

The ability to drag-and-drop files exists in the product today, and we are planning to add drag-and-drop for folders in a future release.

Thanks,

Joan Allen

This is a crucial feature for large complicated projects; either that or some method of creating a 'Project Template'...... I currently have hundreds of sub-folders, which took weeks to set up for one project.... I would dread doing that all over again for a new project.

Joan,

Any idea of when this function will be available, because I have to agree with the others - it's crucial in making this a usable solution.

Hi Andy - I can't give you exact timing in this yet, but it is high on our priority list for Docs.

Thanks,
Joan

Hi @Disappointed ,

You can do this directly through the Desktop Connector from your machine without having to log into the web browser.

Also I would also look at adding a default folder structure into a template to use when you setup new projects. You can create multiple templates if it varies.

Thanks for the insight, but if the web front end is where you found a place to drop your new files, finding the that same place's version on your desktop is another chore that could be eased a little by our landlord. Also I have no idea whether it is possible to edit a file's description with the desktop version. Maybe the description is not in use much, but I find it helpful.
