BIM Collaboration Pro mixed software

I am very new to BIM Collaboration Pro (BCL). Primarily I will use it for Collaboration for Plant 3D, but I was wondering whether it is possible to integrate different models created in different software and how this process works.

 

For example, we have a structural model created in Revit, Revit and BIM Collaborate Pro are buddies. We have a mechanical / piping project created in Plant 3D. Collaboration for P3D works, BIM Collaborate Pro cooperates with it. All good.

 

But now I want to combine the two. I know I can link Plant 3D model to Revit or I can export Revit model to 3D solids and implement structural model within Plant 3D piping model, but does the concept fairly work in BIM Collaborate Pro? Is it possible to combine different disciplines multiple models in BIM Collaborate Pro, e.g. Revit model, P3D model, Civil 3D model (as C4C3D is also supported), maybe even Advance Steel model into a working coordination model and if yes, what would be the optimal workflow?

 

I know we're kinda mixing apples and oranges here, but it is impossible to create a high quality design without using different and not highly compatible software or even mixing software from different software developers.

4 years late to this. I have a similar set up. I'd be interested in what you're doing? I am part of a team of 3, spead acorss the world, we do everything between us. we have a Revit model, Advance steel models and Plant3D, and in the future no doubt there will be Civil3D too, but we're not there yet on this first project using BIM Collaborate Pro. Currently we're exporting everything into AutoCAD and bringing it into the Plant3D enviroment and creating Orthos mostly, so that means keeping Advance Steel out of BIM Collaborate and then EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and copy paste the 3D Solids into a P3D project model. Similar with Revit, export the bits we need and paste into a P3D model. Once the Orthos are created though we've having to copy these out of the BIM Collaborate enviroment as Sheetsets don't appear to work for Orthos in the BIM Collaborate evironment, they only work in the Construction cloud environment, which isn't a lot of good when you open your orhto from Plant3D, there title block is blank. Currenly I see the BIM Collaborate as half of a solution that requires a mass of work arounds. At least this is what is working for us at this time.
