Autodesk Desktop Connector download speed limited

I use desktop connector to download Navis works files from BIM360. Currently when downloading files the download speed is being limited to ~5.8MBps by something. It is not just effecting my machine, but also other colleagues, and is the same when connecting to my company's network, or home network via VPN. If I go to the BIM360 website, I can download the same Navis files with no speed limit though. I am running Desktop Connector V16.5.0.2083, and have tried fresh install but no change.

Image showing speed being limited attached.

I had tried to resolve with my company IT but the believe the issue is with Autodesk and have directed me here.

Regards

Scott

Why are you using the connector for downloading if it's faster through BIM 360? The connector isn't really for file transfer which may be the issue.

@scott_fairleyH3NNG I will support your comment that it does feel limited.

You may have noticed that DCv16 looks very similar to another well-known virtual drive/sync product. And therefore, you might expect (like us) that it also performs similar to that other product.

I have previously performed comparative download and upload tests, and DCv16 is consistently and significantly slower. I have provided this feedback to the development team. I have not yet had an update, but I am happy to give them the time to investigate.

While older DC versions were ideally only for supporting file links, there is certainly an expectation that DC needs to expand to support all files and file usage to make it a performant project CDE regardless of how the files are accessed.

Because for my workflow I find it much easier to access the files I need through file explorer (via the desktop connector). Until recently this has not been a problem. I'd certainly agree speeds are always slower through desktop connector, but as mentioned in my post, recently there seems to be a hard cap somewhere that limits it to 5.8MBps.

Yeah, the interface does make it easy but it’s not really designed for direct file transfer.
