Our estimating department along with project executives and other departments are looking to go back into our archives of previously completed projects to look for information on issues, staffing, lessons learned, etc. Currently the only way we can do this is to either make them a system administrator so they can look up every project on their own or ask them for a list of projects and individually add them to each project. Neither of these is a good option or very efficient.
It would be very useful to set some kind of system viewing permission to certain users so they could open up and look at any project in our database and even run reports from those project, but not be able to make any changes or start receiving notifications. This could also be used for outside consultants and auditors who are doing a review of past project performances or even for creating "training" projects so users could look at and review preferred project documentation and workflows
