Rocketbook is a physical note taking book that has reusable pages which contain specialised scanning capabilities.
Each page includes a Title, and can optionally include a Tag. Coincidentally, ACC Photos has attributes for Title and Tags. And Files also has a Title, and could have a custom attribute for Tags.
The Rocketbook mobile app also features built-in scan destinations. These destinations are prominent in the app and are integrated with some of the specialised scanning capabilities of its pages. As you would expect, these destinations include some of the common note management and communication platforms.
Currently, the ACC mobile app has the ability to have content from another app 'shared' as an image to ACC Photos. So this means in Rocketbook a scan can be shared as a photo to ACC. But, unlike the Rocketbook built-in destinations, this process of sharing to ACC currently isn't an obvious one. This is what needs to be improved.
This Idea is for Autodesk to work with Rocketbook to help develop a built-in connection between the platforms. This would position ACC prominently in the Rocketbook app. This connection would allow a scanned image to be sent to ACC Photos, as well as populating the photo's Title and Tags attributes.
Furthermore, Autodesk has previously worked with Rocketbook to create Autodesk branded notebooks. I know this, because I have one. Since then, I have been exploring if this could be a convenient way for construction teams to capture quick onsite notes and sketches, for a subsequent share to ACC.
This is because not all onsite staff use iPads, but they all have phones and likely carry a pad and pencil.
I have come to learn that Rocketbook is an extremely popular and highly rated product, and I have to assume that despite my previous ignorance of its existence that there are numerous users in construction (and design in general) that also use it.
And if you need even more convincing, the Autodesk Shop sells notebooks and post-its. Why not partner with Rocketbook to make those shop items smart, so as to give them additional purpose as scannable pages with an ACC destination? I imagine you could do something similar with Fusion 360. The notebook itself doesn't require product-specific details, since this is controlled by the Rocketbook destinations.
This seems like a partnership too good to not have.
