I hear that this is supposed to be added to glue. I 've heard this from several people. I'm curious as a search does not reveal any post of this. Clearance is a must.Fire protection by code is supposed to be 2" away from steel and there is no way to check this? Some say add fireproofing to beams. That all and good if the model for structure is from Revit, how are you suppose to handle a Tekla model? .Garauntee that the modeler forstructure could care a less about adding FP.Also some inspectors interpet the 2" from fire proofing. Adding a thickness of 4" doesn't cut it.
Two years later you have still not added the Tolerance/Clearance option for Glue. How is it that you have it as an option when one sets up clashes in Glue, but it doesn't actually work!?!
I am about to be diving back into the glue and field world after a hiatus. I began to look at my many suggestions and complaints with the software only to discover that non have really been addressed. This is very concerning. How has this clearance issue not been addressed yet?!
We gave up on Glue. We realize it's just a overpriced cloud depository cause the clash detection is junk, program is slow. (Just a pig with lipstick)
That is really disappointing to hear, what do you use then? I just got a BIM job lined up again and proposed the complete BIM360 system with it. It worked for me in the past but had some major flaws and room for improvement, it concerns me that potentially once I reopen the software I will be fighting the same fights again and be very disappointed.
Hi Chuck,
Come on, it isn't that bad. Perhaps something with a St. Patrick's day theme? 🙂

Hello Everyone,
On a more serious note, I certainly understand the disappointment, and still hopeful that you will begin using the BIM 360 tools. It is the fastest growing product line for Autodesk and several projects including high profile ones have been completed (built) utilizing the technology and tools.
I may have posted in the past that it was never intended to make Navisworks and Glue as one product. Glue was not meant to replace Navisworks. Both tools have its own good features and the goal was to compliment the two and not replace. Some improvements have been made to make the two products work better together.
In Navisworks 2016 we introduced the ability to open models directly from Glue in Navisworks. It also added the capability to append single models from Glue then merged it in Navisworks and save it back to Glue as a merged model. This also allowed to support other workflows including the ability to use the robust features of Navisworks such as Clash Detection, save that data back to Glue and when another user who has access to Navisworks open the same model, that user will see that data. I have seen this workflow done on several projects.
At around the same time or later, we introduced a Glue and Navisworks bundle. Currently, we offer access to 5 Navisworks Manage for every 25 User subscription for Glue.
In addition, instead of building from old technology and add new features where it may become more unstable, we focused on building on a new platform which is what you will see very soon with the next generation BIM 360 products which started with BIM 360 Docs.
It may not be exactly the answer that you are hoping for but I am hoping that you will continue or at least see how the BIM 360 products are evolving and be able to utilize it for your projects.
Thank you!
Frederick
This posted is 2 years old and yet the issue is not resolved!
I have been using Navis for years and Glue is like going back to a bicycle from a Muscle car, there is no comparison on speed and clash reporting.
The only thing that's better here is the collaboration.
We use Glue because we are forced to by upper management, the cost is over the top for what we get, it's just a expensive cloud pool of BIM files, we only use the Navisworks side and we can do the same thing on any (much cheaper) cloud service.
Oh and thanks for the Saint Patrick's reminder, I think she's a little cuter now!
