Which iPad Model?

Dear Autodesk-Team,

is there any suggestion of which iPad model to use. Right now we are using the iPad Air 2. We are thinking about buying some iPad 4. Will there be any difference?

Hi Nikolas,

I'm not from Autodesk, but I use and iPad Air 1 and have recently arranged some iPad Pros to some of our site teams.

To be honest, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two when using classic BIM 360 Field, except that my old Air is a little slower to load big models. However, we have some BIM tools from other vendors which will not operate on my older model iPad, and new technologies only get more hungry for memory and processing power. I would always suggest getting the newest model you can, to ensure you have the hardware to support future releases of software for as long as possible.

There are too many iPad models on the market now. It is quite confusing and difficult to decide which is the best. But I think it all depends on your needs, though most models offer you some similar features.

Hi!

I’m not a member of the team, but be sure to pick an iPad that you feel comfortable carrying around. We have the iPad Pro 12.9” and to me that one is a bit too large to be carryable. I would go with the 10.5” instead if you have a choice 🙂
