How do I stop subcontractors from seeing issues other than their own?

When a sub goes to the main issues page, they can see all subcontractor issues. When they try to filter by subcontractor, they can only filter by their own issue. The problem is that when they first bring up the issues page, all items are there.

@Anonymous

Hi,

And thank you for participating in our community. My name is Bogdan and I am with the BIM 360 Technical Support team.

From what I understand, subcontractor members are logging in to BIM 360 Field and they can see issues that were not assigned to their company? Could you please confirm that my understanding is correct?

May I please ask you to double check the following:

  • The members we are looking at have the Subcontractor role assigned;
  • The issues that were created are assigned to the Subcontractors' company;

Are you using the improved subcontractor experience in BIM 360 Field?

Would it be possible for you to upload a few print-screens to show how one of this members was set up in your project, how one of the issues was created and how the Subcontractor page looks when the members log in?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Bogdan

Hi Bogdan,

Yes, your assumption is correct. Subcontractors that are logged in and assigned as a Subcontractor can see every issue.

What is the improved subcontractor experience in BIM?

So the issues I have experienced to date:

1. A subcontractor just got an iPad and purchased the BIM360Field app. When he logged into the app, he sorted by his company and sorted by open issues. For some reason, all issues were visible and he was unable to sort by company.

2. A subcontractor was in BIM360 on the computer. When he went into the issues tab, all issues were visible. When he filtered the issues tab by Subcontractor, he was able to see just his issues.

^^These are different people (different log ins) but they work for the same subcontractor.

The only people that are assigned anything other than a 'Subcontractor' role are the people who work for my company ('Contractor') and Owner/Arch.

All issues are entered on the iPad. We upload from the iPad and assign the issue to a 'Subcontractor' on the computer.

I have attached screenshots of the Subcontractor and our permissions page.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

About the Subcontractor experience, please see this release note here.

I will need to investigate this issue directly on your account. Would it be possible to add me to your project as a project admin? I will send you a private message with my email address.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Bogdan

I'm encountering the same problem as the one described in this thread. Is the resolution something a project admin can do or was Autodesk Support intervention required to resolve it?

Regards,

Larry

Still waiting on a resolution. I gave access to BIM360 and haven't heard a solution just yet.

Hi @ljandreychuk_pcl_com

Could you please send some additional information using the private messaging system:

  • Print-screens showing the member's settings;
  • The view as the member is logged into the subcontractor portal (indicating what they can see)?
  • The project name, account name and the region (US or EU).

Thank you!

Best regards,

Bogdan

Hi Bogdan,
Thank you for contacting me! I've requested a screenshot of the Issue filters the user has access to so to verify they are applied correctly. I'll send you the information after I get confirmation they have access to filters that subcontractors should not have access to.
Just to note, I have a support ticket open for this issue.
Regards,
Larry

Hi,

Just had a look at the "All Unresolved Issues" filter and the "Subcontractor" role was enabled. I missed it the first time, please accept my apologies..

I disabled it for you. Maybe you could have a look and let us know if the issue was now solved?

Thank you!

Bogdan

That was not enabled when I looked yesterday. I even have a screenshot of it from then.
Please contact me through my direct email to confirm you looked at the right project. If not, I would like to know which project set it up that way.
Thanks,
Larry
