adding photos to checklists

Anonymous

Hi

I have been trying to add photos from Ipad photos into a checklist but it is only showing me the last maybe 20 photos in the past week and nothing more.

I have checked all the settings and the camera permissions and everything seems ok

Thanks

Siobhan

The workflow for adding photos to the checklists is that as you are completing the checklist you take the photos at that moment in time.

This ensures the correct time of the checklist is recorded and the date stamp can be shown on the photo also.

You could connect your ipad to your desktop/ laptop and add the photos (not visible thru the app) thru the web interface.

I would highly recommend not keeping photos of your site on the ipad in an effort to add them later as you may add incorrect photos to incorrect issues/ checklists etc.

regards,

S

Thanks for this reply, unfortunately this is not always possible as we have checklists that can be open for a number of days/weeks and the photos are taking on the ipad at the times appropriate and then uploaded and the checklist may be closed out later. We think this could be an issue with storage on the ipad which is not allowing us to get back to more photos as there is a few guys on site do it and they dont seem to have a problem

Siobhan,

What size and type model is your IPad? I've used min 64gb iPad mini 2 as I had a lot of projects and data on the go.

Hi

It is a 16GB iPad currently we have 2.49GB available and the only thing that is on this is the BIM360Field App and 782 photos

Hi Siobhan,

I think that's the Issue.

If you look at the Min spec requirements on the Ipad on Autodesk site -

Here it mentions

  • Apple iPad® Mini 2 or iPad 3 or later with 32 GB of storage

I have seen 32gb Ipads struggle due to the amount of Projects that are on the unit itself.

You could filter your sync to limit the amount of images etc on the IPad.

If you use the camera feature on the B360F app rather than the one on the Ipad itself it would not take up as much space because when you synced the Ipad the photos leave it.

Thanks Sean

I am going to get him to use the camera feature within the app at the moment and see if we can source a new ipad for him

Thanks for your help
