Can't snap to linework - Measuring

I'm finding that not all lines are considered candidates for snapping to when selecting. This is making it particularly difficult for taking measurements.

The file I am working with is from Revit.

Hi Chad,

Can you provide a little more information about which lines or objects are and are not working for you? Would it be possible for you to provide some screen shots of each so that I can look into this further for you? Also if you can provide the file I can test it on my end to see it it works for me.

Thanks!

Thanks Brian.

The file is a standard Autodesk Audubon example Revit project.

Here is a recording; http://autode.sk/2nilFX8

Hi Chad,

I have that same dataset and I'm not seeing that problem for sheets that were directly extracted from the Revit model.  The viewer is acting like it is a raster, not vector, format. You should be seeing a little green dot that helps to snap to the linework or object.  Can you try to re-upload the RVT and test again?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Joan, I have re-uploaded the file (as a new version) without any change in behaviour.

The sheets are definitely vector as I can snap to certain lines.

I've also just tried a different file (the structural), with a very similar behaviour, in that it is not snapping to lines such as grids same as in the architectural file.

I believe I have been seeing the exact same behavior. @Chad-Smith

I have a returning issue.

I can view a drawing in the BIM 360 Plans folder and use the measurements to snap to linework. No problem here.

However, in the project admin when the same drawing is linked to a Location, when then drawing the Areas I can not get any snaps.

For a brief moment when the drawing is initially loading the snaps work, but when the drawing finishes loading the snaps disappear. This has made for a rather painful Area assignment process for the project.

This behaviour is repeatable for a different project.

I am afraid we are getting the exact same issue, could anyone from Autodesk provide a solution, please?
Thank you very much

I am seeing the same issue.
The measurement tool does not work. I can not snap anywhere in 2D to "start" the measurment.
In 3D it works..
This is across projects in ACC.

Same here, in our whole organisation this problem happens since a short while ago..

Looking forward to the solution.

Our company is noticing this same issue on the web viewer today. The measurement tool snaps in 3D but when working with a 2D view or sheet there is no snap function. You must calibrate the measurement tool to a known dimension. Hoping Autodesk can follow up with a response to this thread. We would like to have the snap function in 2D views.
