using bifrost to control an effector and drive Maya animation

hello bifrosters.  I cant seem to find anything on this - I can see some examples of using a locator to drive bifrost with the matrix node, but I cant see a way to control an effector with bifrost.  I tried using a cube - get points , add points set points, but I cant read the translation from the BIF as its still at 000. Im sure there's an easy way to do this, any ideas anyone

many thanks in advance anyone !
