Bifrost version 2.0.1.1 / file_cache node / Alembic export -> 1 Ko

Hello

File_cache node works with Bob & Vdb.

It produces just a 1Ko file with Alembic.

ABC plugin export version : 1.0

Any idea ?

Thanks

Fransua

Alembic can only be used to export meshes at the moment. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to use the file_cache node to export Alembic directly from Aero, for instance.

Hello Morten

I was able to export Bifrost Liquid with Alembic.

Does it mean it doesn't work with Bifrost aero or with simulate_aero inside Bifrost Graph ?

As Morten wrote, Alembic currently only works with meshes, so if you don't feed the write_alembic node a mesh, it will not work.

With Bifrost Liquid, you probably enabled meshing in the liquidShape node and wrote the resulting mesh to Alembic.

For Aero sims, use the native bob file cache or openVDB if you want to render the volumes with other renderers than Arnold.
