Bifrost not working

I've just installed Maya 2019.2 to have a play with the new Bifrost. The menu's are all there, plugins all loaded. When I open a demo scene, say the steamy_breath, it loads all the geo and bifrost graph. When I press play, nothing happens. The play bar goes round and round without doing any calculations. In the output window there are 4 errors which keep repeating:

Error: while compiling top level compound 'steamy_breath1', around :
JIT compilation used external function 'sqrtf' which could not be resolved

Error: while compiling top level compound 'steamy_breath1', around :
JIT compilation used external function 'cosf' which could not be resolved

Error: while compiling top level compound 'steamy_breath1', around :
JIT compilation used external function 'sinf' which could not be resolved

Error: while compiling top level compound 'steamy_breath1', around :
JIT compilation used external function 'atan2f' which could not be resolved

The computer is windows 10 upgraded from 7, all updated. The system drive is 😧 as opposed to C:, because of a change in system drives a few years ago. I don't know if any of that would influence anything.

Thanks.

I can't get BiFrost to work either, although I get different error messages.

Tried Maya 2018.6 and Maya 2019.2, neither work.

When opening a Sample File I get errors related to unknown attribute types.

When I try to create a simple particle system and play it back I just get this error over and over:

// Warning: Cannot draw an object with no points. //

Thanks a lot for reporting to us. But I haven't been able to reproduce it on my end. Example bifrost graph "steamy_breath" works as expected for me.

To help us locate the problem quickly, could you please do some quick tests for us?

Test 1:

1) Create a bifrost graph

2) Tab and type "square_root" to create a square_root node

3) Select the node and set the value as "16" in parameter editor

4) In script editor run command: getAttr bifrostGraph1.root

If the node works, it should return number 4.

Test 2:

Based on the errors, it seems Bifrost cannot find math lib on your windows. Could you please go to your Bifrost install folder and open Autodesk\Bifrost\Maya2019\2.0.1.0\bifrost\resources\amino_config.json

You should see meta data as below:

{
"files": [
"ucrtbase"
],
"path": "C:/Windows/System32"
}

Is it C: drive in your config file? If yes, change C to your system drive letter, restart maya and see whether it works or not.

Thanks

Thanks. It was the the amino_config.json file pointing to C: when it should have been D

@fatjulio  Thanks for confirmation and I am glad it works for you now. I have logged BIFROST-3325 for this problem.

Hi Tina,

What Bifrost version are you using and what errors are returned on your side?

The issue talked above is specific to Windows as far as I know.

Thanks

It appears that on our Macs we are having the same issue as reported on the
PC. Maybe a path or folder issue???

Bifrost version is 2.0.4
Mac OS version 10.13.6

My student is watching the Maya Learning Channel video titled Creating a
Smoke Trail in the Bifrost graph. He is trying to recreate the scene where
the rocket has a smoke trail. When he adds the smoke trail to the square
parented to the rocket and hits play, he gets nothing for smoke and an
error in the playback with no code attached.

When we go in to add the BiFrost premade Trilobod crash, we get a yellow flag at the bottom of the screen about the cache and now it is freezing the computer.  We get the spinning wheel.
