Welcome Arnold Render

Hello everyone;

I did not have the opportunity of writing article for a long time since the projects and trainings I realize were taking too much time. Even though my intense schedule continues, I wanted to share some nice and amazing news. I suppose you are wondering what happened.

Well, here is the news. NVIDIA Mental Ray and Iray were removed from Autodesk 3Ds Max 2017 version and ART Render replaced them. ART Render (Autodesk Ray Trace Render) is a highly successful rendering engine even though it needs some improvements.

Meanwhile interesting things were happening behind the scene. Arnold Render was included in the Autodesk family of products. Probably most of you are hearing Arnold Render for the first time but it is a rendering engine that has been successfully used in many big projects.

This is good news for me since Mental Ray, which was included in 3Ds Max for years and supported by NVIDIA for this or that reason had a very but very slow development pace and was not preferred much by users. NVIDIA’s support continues but Mental Ray will no longer be a part of 3Ds Max as default. Users can install it separately if they desire so.

I suppose that we will see Arnold Render engine as the default engine in the future versions of 3Ds Max and Maya. But who knows what the future will bring. Arnold Render is a rendering engine developed by Solid Angle and it has been used in many Hollywood productions as I stated above. Now, I am leaving you alone with Arnold Render so you can see its capabilities;
