Trying to Convert PDF to DWF, Getting Large Files

I'm trying to save a couple PDF sets to DWF using Design Review 2013 so everyone on the project doesn't have to reprint their sheets but the files are huge and ugly. They get even bigger when I change the DPI. Are these getting converted to raster or vector? The PDFs are not raster. I need the help bad...

Thank you.

ADR uncompressed the PDFs, turns them into Raster files. That's why your DWF files are huge.

You will need to do this Windows Registry File edit had to change that reality, remember to back it up before you edit it http://whatrevitwants.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/force-design-review-to-open-pdf-files.html

I don't have any of those paths available to make the key. Are one of those paths supposed to be there? I have Windows 7 and ADR2013 and neither one of these are available:

‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AppDataLow\Software\Autodesk\Design Review\Preferences’

‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Design Review\Preferences’

(the bold parts were the missing parts)

Thanks again.

Did you download the REG TWEAKS zip file and simply let Windows add them?

Remember to back up the Windows Registry File before you edit it.

Hi, Thanks again. Yes, reg tweaks updated my registry and still everything comes in as a raster. I know my PDFs aren't raster.

Any more recommendations?

FYI is doesn't matter what your PDF type is, ADR converts them to Raster. Nature of the beast.

If the tip does not work for you, there is no other option except to wait and hope the next variant of ADR stops doing this thing.

Have you tried the old DWFWRITER driver as an alternate option? It may or may not be any better, try it and find out http://usa.autodesk.com/dwf-writer/?preview=1

ADR2013 remains a lousy PDF tool IMHO.
