Will someone please tell me what causes the error shown in the attached screen-shot, and how to fix it?

I just installed DWG Trueview 2016, and it won't open.

Thanx!

Here's the solution:

Adobe Acrobat 9 Extended: rename this file \Windows\System32\acapture64.dll (I renamed it to acapture64---.dll)

If you have other program start-up problems, here's a good site w/a good tool to help resolve them:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Autodesk has this documented on another site, but I forget where.

This is supposed to work w/AutoCAD no-starts too.

Please clarify the solution described below with regard to the following points:

1. There is no file named acapture64.dll. I believe this is just a typo because on my machine (Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit), which does have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended installed, the file is named acaptuser64.dll. This latter file is in the directory C:\Windows\System32 as specified. Should the file named acaptuser64.dll be renamed?

2. If the file acaptuser64.dll is renamed, will it prevent Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from operating properly?

3. Should the system be rebooted after the rename operation?

Thanks.

As an FYI, the same problem occurs with DWG TrueView 2015.

Hi @Anonymous

Take a look at the following knowledge article, there are some other suggestions of which you could try... http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/The-app...

Thanks for the help.

I was having this error with DWG Trueview 2016.

Changing the registry key - as mentioned in the knowledge base article worked perfectly.

Thanks.

Incorrect Registry Key

A different program may incorrectly be switching a registry key from a 0 to a 1. Changing the value of the following registry key to 0 may help:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion \Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs

You need to post the installation log file: a link to it was on the pop-up you took a screenshot of.

The log file reports these most common issues:
Installation aborted, Result=1603
DirectX Runtime Failed Failure is ignored, Result=1619

A Google Search should get you links to tips to try, they are quite numerous to re-write here.

Hi,

Nope. Try the solutions mention(re install directx, using other installation folder etc')

I'm kind of desperate. The issue is that in my laptop(old one but working good) the install goes smooth and it's up and running.

and in my Desktop which is my main work place i can't finish the installation.

Any opter ideas will be great 🙂

Many thanks,

Hadar

Restart Windows and ensure you are logged in as full admin in Windows.
Turn off all background apps, turn off your anti-virus
Open your Windows log in TEMP folder and empty it.
Leave that folder open in Windows Explorer.
Now try installing your software.

Post 13 above, you've got to try to dig a little deeper, you're still getting the same errors.
