This has already been mentioned on multiple blogs and forum posts:
Launching ADR 2013 now pops up the 'Update Available' dialog box.
Clicking the 'Get Update' button attempts to launch the URL: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/content/autodesk-design-review-2018-hotfix
This URL does NOT LOAD -- giving, instead, an "Access Denied" error.
User then needs to resort to Googling to figure out where to actually get the update that was promised.
Surely one of the website admins can use a redirect to point to
http://www.autodesk.com/products/design-review/download, or actually build out a page at https://knowledge.autodesk.com/content/autodesk-design-review-2018-hotfix that includes a download link, rather than an Access Denied message?
It would be nice to have some sort of official guidance from Autodesk on what the idea behind this new release of ADR is all about. I see that the year number has been dropped, which makes a lot of sense, since it won't be updated along with other Autodesk products. I read the readme and don't see much to indicate why I would update my users at this point. Is this primarily an update to accommodate Windows 10?
I also see questions in the forum asking regarding which version of Vault it should be used with. Surely that doesn't matter, since ADR doesn't actually integrate with Vault in any way. We should be able to Check Out a DWFx in Vault then mark it up in ADR, save it, then Check In back in Vault just like before, regardless of whether you are using Vault 2016, 2017, or 2018 or which release of ADR you use.
