I take it that whatever this is, it is unselectable?

It is just a blank line (zero length) of text inside an attribute. When you zoom out, you see some kind of graphics in its place. Zoom in and it disappears. When you plot they show up on the print as well.

Hi,

i suggest to use Purge command to delete this empty text objects.

Command: -PU -PURGE
Enter type of unused objects to purge [Blocks/DEtailviewstyles/Dimstyles/Groups/LAyers/LTypes/MAterials/MUltileaderstyles/Plotstyles/SHapes/textSTyles/Mlinestyles/SEctionviewstyles/Tablestyles/Visualstyles/Regapps/Zero-length geometry/Empty text objects/Orphaned data/All]:

This blank text is in an attribute on a block. I double click in the attribute value and I get what looks like a little wider "blue" to show something is there.

it does not go away with purge or any other method that I know of except to go into each and everyone of the attributes and erase them. the is a daunting task with hundreds of attributes in a drawing. Thanks anyway, I'll keep looking.

Here you go. When you are zoomed out you see the blank text. Zoom in and it's gone from the screen.

Hi,

this problem happened because the empty lines in your attributes are have a space, all what you have to do it is to go through attribute editor and press DELETE AND ERASE (back space) keyboard buttons.then you will notice the difference. see attached CAD file.

Good Luck...

I know but I have hundreds of these instances which will take a long time to manually do it.

These so called "spaces" do not delete when I do a find and replace. I'll look for another way to automatically do this.

It turns out that the character that was "not" showing up was a return "\r". I found it by using the LM:vl-getattributevalue function by Lee Mac. The value showed up as \r and I was able to search through all block attributes and remove it with another of Lee's functions. Hat's off to Lee for these functions that have been around a while. You just need to remember you have them. I Put together a short routine calling his into play and BAM, all done. Thanks Lee.
