Hi. I am a reseller of Autodesk in South Africa. I have a client who is asking about ProgeCAD. I have never heard of this product before but my client is adament that its an alternative to AutoCAD. I did some research and found that ProgeCAD is being sold by a Sole distributor for Africa by a gentleman from Croatia who works for ProgeCAD. I also learnt that ProgeCAD could be intelliCAD!! He is based in Cape Town and is selling both AutoCAD and ProgeCAD in his website. He is also an Autodesk Gold Partner. I saw on this forum a post that ProgeCAD is reverse engineered to be like AutoCAD however this company is offering integration to AutoCAD and he can upgrade your current AutoCAD to a newer version of ProgeCAD???. Can someone please explain to me how I justify AutoCAD 2021 3D annual license for R24 000 vs. ProgeCAD 3D Perpetual!!! for only R7000 perpetual licence? Is this even allowed? The website of the sole distributer is www.cad4africa.co.za. please help? I'm so confused!

Note: I was incorrect - cad4africa is actually on t a Autodesk partner or reseller. The rest of the info still holds true.
ProgeCad is an Intellicad based application, repackaged and sold at retail. Intellicad is an Acad work-alike, with many of the same features and commands as AutoCAD, but is not AutoCAD. Whether it will meet your clients needs is an open question -- for generic, non-specialized 2d drafting, it may well be adequate. But it does not have the wide ranging ecosystem that AutoCAD offers.

1. This is the wrong place for this question,
you are a reseller of Autodesk, ask Autodesk!
They have some professionals who can offer well noising words as answer to this question.
2. If you asking users, like us, the answer is: You can't
Until you found a problem with the other software and compatibility with other producs, clients tools..
It is not compatible to 100.0%,
but if this isn't a problem for a client (what is often not a problem), then it is really hard to justify.
Progecad is one of the cheapest products with with feature level.
But i would take other products. Out there are many product
and everyone can use what he want.
(And everyone have to live with the choice, with the price, bugs and support)
