Digital asset libraries are nothing new. They come in all shapes and sizes but regularly suffer from over ambition or have limited use. Royal HaskoningDHV is creating a digital asset library for rail in the Netherlands, with and for its partners in the national rail industry, including asset owner ProRail with the specific aim lower the “saw-tooth effect” in handover, benefitting quality while reducing cost and time spend doing rework. Using contributions from engineering firms and contractors alike, with sources from all kinds of different software we aim to create a common understanding about these objects by connecting the already available yet fragmented data. Learn what key factors make the library successful from both a technical and a process perspective and gain insight in how to deal with data from so many different sources while still being able to keep quality control assured.
