Server Connection Lost - Failed to send data

I have gotten this error on a couple of different models. My energy analysis ran and there are optimization results, but when I try to change the settings to only focus on a few options (for instance a certain plug load efficiency), the user interface messes up and I'm not able to move the blue bar to focus on the items I'm trying to change.

Is anyone else getting this error and had any success in solving it?

Hi @Anonymous

There are usually two different reasons why this sometimes happens.

1. If you are accessing the result from the Revit Optimize panel. If you are using this method, try to access the results by either clicking on the link in the Analysis Complete email; or log into the Insight website directly insight.autodesk.com

2. If you have enabled the Energy Plus service (you would have had to requested a key from Autodesk to access this service) it sometimes has this problem if some of the parametric runs have failed. Disable the Energy Plus service.

I have been getting the exact same error message after trying to use the slide bars.  I have opened Insight from my web browser, tried using the link in my Analysis Complete emails.  I have not enabled the Energy Plus service.

I am trying to disable or turn off EnergyPlus (I see the icon an my Heathing Cooling icon along the Toolbar).  Where is this enabled?  Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

The trouble sometimes happens when you use Energy Plus for the annual simulations (Energy Plus for Heating and Cooling Loads doesn't cause these issues). You would know if you have Energy Plus enabled for the annual simulations. You'd have to request a key for the service from the Insight support folks. But FYI, log into Insight and on the main Insights page, under your account name you will see Services (see screenshot). That is where you enable/disable Energy Plus.

Are you consistently having this problem with all models?

Have you had success with the service before?

What web browser are you using? Insight works best with Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

This is the only way I was able to get it to work for me. The analysis had no problem when I ran it in the web browser which makes me think it's more of a user interface issue with the Insight pop-up window from Revit because the data is there when I open it in a web platform.

Hi @Anonymous

Yes, unfortunately there is some problem with the Insight results viewd in the Revit browser vs web.
