Currency

All my Revit projects are in Europe and the location in my Revit projects are all configured with the correct european address.
When I use the "Generate Insight" button it will automatically add a project in Green Building Studio but with dollar as the currency instead of Euros.

Also the generated Insight report will use dollars.

In the past we had a workaround by first creating the project in gbs and configuring Euro as the currency before doing the analysis in Revit.

But this is not possible anymore because "Generate Insight" will automatically create a new gbs project.

So, how can we get other currencies, like Euro, in the reports?

Hello Johan.

We have plans to address units including currency and EUI soon.  For now EUI is available only in the rollup icon in the upper left of the model view in Insight360 dashboard, and currency symbol and cost is only in dollars.

Thanks for the request, it helps guide our priorities.

Hi David,

I hope support for other currencies will arrive soon. Because now it's difficult to discuss and evaluate the results with others.

Hi Johan.

Can you describe what issues about currency make it hard to share results with customers?  it is just a symbol after all, so it seems to me that control of utility pricing values and even hiding the symbol would satisfy curreny conversion issues.

Hi David,

You’re absolutely right that, when you know the background of how Insight 360 is working, it is just a symbol.
But new users are deterred when they see dollars, it gives them the impression that it is a solution for the US only , that all results are not correct for Europe. For them the first conclusion is "not for me". And then it becomes difficult to change their first opinion.

Also, before it was possible. What I always did to get Euros was to create the project in GBS first, before running the analysis in Revit. In that case, when creating the project and by choosing a European location, GBS automatically picked up Euros as the currency. So in my humble opinion, the functionality is already in gbs, but for some reason was never exposed to the Revit Analysis functions nor the new Insight 360.

Hi David,

Just want to add that in the model viewer I can switch from USD/m2/yr to kwh/m2/yr. This is what I want to have and what I would like to see in all other widgets in the dashboard (like in the "Benchmark comparison" and "Model History" widget.

I'm a Research Scholar from India doing Energy Stimulation Study with Revit 2020 version. When I generate an energy model in revit and create a Optimization, the model will be regenergated to Insisght where the currency Rupee (used in India) is not there. Please solve my issue that "How to change the currency to Rupee for calculating the Utility Rates?"
