Autodesk desktop app fails to update.

so the latest update for the desktop app actually breaks the app before it is even installed...
IE the app prompts that there is an update for the app with a drop down window that cant be closed and blocks access to anything else in the app ,cant even get to the app settings .

So updating the app to the latest version and the app restarts ...only to have drop down window promting that theres an update for the app and the drop down window blocks acces to the rest of the desktop app....

infinite loop.
Cant use the app anymore cause of the drop down window (as seen in the attached screen shot),and update does NOT update and get rid of the prompt window.

Untick the option to automatically install Autodesk Desktop App updates.

Go to the Control Panel. 

Uninstall Autodesk Desktop App.

(optional) Install the latest version of the app from https://www.autodesk.com/desktop-app

Thanks for your feedback.

Please click the download and it will update automatically.

If you see any issue, please follow below instructions and then try to use Autodesk desktop app.

 

Exit Autodesk desktop app(from system tray menu)
Stop AdAppMgr Service(task manager)
%Programdata% > Autodesk > Delete the “SDS” folder
Restart Autodesk desktop app.

 

Please let me know if it works.

Been away on holiday so only just back last week ,but had tried that last year and again today but makes no difference at all.

just tried uninstall and reinstalling the app and that worked this time ,no idea why it works now when it didnt last year before i went on holiday.

You reinstalled the desktop app or the revit app itself?
