Possibility to ignore updates

Dear Autodesk,

Every time ADA launches, gaves me false new updates notification.

There is no Inventor 2016, nor AutoCAD 2017 installed on the computer. There was but they were uninstalled.

An option like "do not show updates to this product anymore" would be awesome.

Thank you,

ADA offers what your Autodesk Account lists o programs available, it doesn't do god job of polling what is still on your PC.

If you are able to defeat your FOMO, remove ADA and set a calendar reminder for yourself to just check for updates at your Autodesk Subscription Account every three months instead.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

I think after uninstalling previous versions of the products somehow the UPI2 values may be still there in registry.

could you please check the upi2 values for inventor 2016 and autocad 2017 in the registry(Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\UPI2\)?if you have any guid values for 2017 autocad and 2016 inventor delete them.

ExAMPLE screenshot:

after deleting UPI2 values, do the following steps.

Exit Autodesk desktop app(from system tray menu)
Stop AdAppMgr Service(task manager)
%Programdata% > Autodesk > Delete the “SDS” folder
Restart Autodesk desktop app.

Please let me know if it works.

Regards,

Srinivas.

Hi,

Thank you, this works! However, I've deleted the whole keys, not just the GUIDs and ADA won't start after the process. Then, I restarted the computer, ADA launched properly and now there are no more update notifications for uninstalled products.

I had completed before the "Clean Uninstall of Inventor 2016" (and AutoCAD 2017) registry cleaning according to the article, but it seems, they forgot some registry entry.

Regards,

I would also point out that sometimes i just dont want/need to install updates for Civil 3D, such as  ISYBAU translater, Geotechnical moduel/GENI import-export and so forth.  It would actually be REALLY nice with a "hide/ignore" update button.

Agreed on the above comment. There are several updates on my list that are not applicable to me. How can I ignore these?

@hannahmT4NQF ADA is what it is, you are describing an ongoing limitation.

It appears Autodesk presence in this forum disappeared some time ago, you'll have to start a support ticket through your portal to find out what else you can do (if anything is doable).
