Inventor Professional 2022.1 update can't find the file "Inventor.msi"

I have tried several time to install the Inventor Professional 2022.1 update and it has failed every time.  Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Same problem...scanned my computer for it but is nowhere to be found.
I guess there will be a new release of the update soon that includes the file.

Thanks for the reply.  I posted the issue because I was having trouble installing the .1 update.  My solution ending up being the total uninstall and reinstall of Inventor.  Which was as I expected, was a nightmare.  It seems to have resolved the problem as I have not had any issues with the latest updates.

Thanks

The same thing happens to me, but I don't want to reinstall inventor! Nothing from autodesk for this issue?

Nothing from Autodesk to date.

I have the same problem with Inventor Pro 2022.2

You have my sympathy.  My solution was to un-install and re-install Inventor.  As far as a fix from Autodesk, nothing but radio silence.  Wish someone had a better solution.

@Anonymous @rmonti.ut Autodesk Support is reached this correct way only if you have a paid subscription https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~:text=To%20contact%20support%3A,to%20access%20help%20and%20support.

Thanks for the reply.  I do have a paid subscription thank you.  And if Autodesk has a fix, why did no one reply to my original post back in July?

@Anonymous These forums are peer supported: end users helping other end users. Contributors only reply when they have an answer, apparently no one did in your case.

You also opted to post in a forum for a sloppy nanny-app that Autodesk bundles with their software that is hideously supported by Autodesk, so if someone from Autodesk does float in here they could only be equipped to help you fix the nanny app, not your more detailed issue.

For all installation and licensing issues, the better forum to seek help in is this one https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/bd-p/24

Now you know.

I did search the Autodesk site for a solution but found nothing at the time.  I was hoping for suggestions from a peer supported forum.  I have found peer support can be pretty good sometimes.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that Inventor Pro is a "sloppy nanny-app".  In your opinion, what is a better CAD platform to use?  I have used several CAD apps, (CATIA, RHINO, PRO E, Sketch Up) and find Inventor to be the most convenient for getting the job done.

Thanks

No, you overread it, I was not talking about Inventor/Pro, but the topic of this forum aka the AUTODESK DESKTOP APP (ADA), you posted in the wrong forum for your Inventor Installation issues, you posted in the forum about problems using the Autodesk-Ignored app ADA.

These forums are sorted by topic, this was not a good spot for your exact post topic/issue. That's why it got ignored for so long.

Hello all,

A workarround you can do and actually works is as follows:

1) Go to all products and services.

2) Find inventor and click download

3) * Important * download all 3 files, make sure you allow pop up windows.

4) Create a folder and name it as you like ( i named it "inventor") at download folder.

5) open 001 file and extract to the folder you created.

6) Inside the extracted folder type to top right corner at search bar *.msi
This will list all .msi files.

7) Click and install the missing .msi file.
In my case it was InventorLP.msi

8 ) 😎 Run update patch again.

This is the solution. Thank you.

The problem is still active on update 2022.3.2

A shame that "some user" must provide this information.

Ok Ok i believe you. I came across ( again ) with the same issue.

Luckily, we managed to get through the problem with the help of Autodesk support.

All you have to do is find the inventor.msi file again but in little different steps as bellow:

1)  Go products and services.

2) Download installer for inventor

KTRYFONIDIS_1-1669640532177.png

3) double click to install and wait , it just creates installer, no install happening yet.

KTRYFONIDIS_2-1669640590249.png

4) installer finished creation

KTRYFONIDIS_3-1669640622426.png

5) open folder

Inside there it is at the path

KTRYFONIDIS_5-1669640794678.png

6) Run Inventor.msi and wait about 5 minutes, it runs in background. You might need to restart pc after this.

7) Run update afterwards again

😎 enjoy.

The last post was how I was able to successfully update Inventor 2022. I've been missing updates since 2022.1 and finally battled through the missing file.

Thanks for the posts all.
