Desktop App No Longer Showing Updates

So, our desktop app updated to the latest version, and in some cases the latest version was installed via download on clean machine.  If I run an update, the update tab and the arrow pointing to it disappears,  No, I have not finished running all available updates at that point.  I also have reports of people just opening the desktop app, no update tab visible, and the products all say the latest updates are installed, which I know to be false.

Is this some new, poorly designed, functionality, or is the Desktop App malfunctioning?  I've seen similar reports on this board, so it is not just happening here.

We are seeing the exact same thing here in my office. Going to the page suggested also shows no updates available.

Read this from Autodesk https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Missin...

I had this issue as well and found that I needed to install the "Autodesk Desktop Connector" to get the updates to show up correctly. Here is the link if you want to try: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/desktop-connector/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/ENU/...

The first this I do when updating computers is update the desktop connector.

We had a few people in the office with the issue. For us, it seemed like downloading the connector, or redownloading it, and then restarting the computer worked, but it may have been a separate issue than the one you are having.

Yeah, amazingly, everything is back this morning without downloading any additional things.

Yeah, we all tried that first thing yesterday.

Actually, a few minutes after I posted that all the updates were back, they were gone again. Hilarious

It's a troublesome app for sure: you have to weigh pros and cons of having it on all the time vs only checking for updates if/when you actually have a software problem.

Enjoy the ride.

Yep. That's exactly what happens. They are there, and then they are gone.

We wouldn't have even noticed if our IT guy was more on the ball with installing our updates that have been sitting there for weeks.

If the product is so bad, why would Autodesk keep using it?

The basic concept is great, but a secondary admin or software coordinator should be able to control which updates appear on all devices within their company. This could be controlled from the Autodesk account.

Ask them: start a support ticket at your Autodesk Account.

Remember, no one here is Autodesk: just end users like you and me helping each other out with sage advise to keep you working and less time nursing junkware.
