Autodesk desktop app not working, not showing in the tray

How come the software package I pay the most money for is the MOST unstable and unreliable of what I have on my computer?? There is ALWAYS (and I mean ALWAYS) a problem with some of the Autodesk apps and services I have installed. 3ds max is a chapter of its own, but the Autodesk desktop app is living a life of its own. Showing only one version of 3ds max installed, usually not the latest version I use, not showing updates and suddenly without any changes on my computer it chooses not to work at all.
I come home from a two weeks holiday, and the desktop app suddenly is running in the task manager, but I see no tray icon, I cannot open it and nothing happens when I re-install it. I even tried the step by step clean uninstall which Autodesk provide, but I'm still unable to open the program. .....Thank you Autodesk for giving me my moneys worth (irony) - you truly know how to waste my time with endless troubleshooting.

You paid for ADA? you got robbed 😉

FYI no one here is Autodesk: you're just preaching to fellow end users.

All of us, including you, can pick up any and all updates and new software when you alone decide to get them at your Accounts Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/home/

Thanks for the reply. I thought Autodesk also read/replied here once in a while?
Yeah I know ADA is a free tool you get with the software, but nonetheless, what is the point when it rarely works? Autodesk make so many horrible tools which are rarely working, it feels more like spam/bloatware than anything else.

I know I can download it manually 🙂 But IF the desktop app would work properly, like the creative cloud software from adobe, it would be a useful tool - it would be nice if Autodesk would actually read the criticism and take it to heart and actually fix their software. So it was an attempt, though probably pointless, to make them understand.

"once in a while" is not something you should hang your hat on honestly.
Kind of like hoping a cop would spot a crime in progress as he drives by in the car with the windows rolled up due to the heat outside.

Autodesk is not Adobe.

ADA works most o the time for most users: it can an does glitch for a few, there is no fix for glitches if a removal, registry cleanup, and a reinstall does not help.

You can reach Autodesk yourself directly through your accounts page to ask for help with it (way more reliable than hoping for a driveby).
