HOLDING SHIFT for Temporary Ortho MODE
Ortho mode is a helpful feature in AutoCAD that constrains movement to the horizontal and vertical axes.
To activate ortho mode, press the F8 key on your keyboard. However, holding down the SHIFT key will lock ortho mode on, allowing you to move objects in a straight line. To unlock ortho mode, simply stop pressing the SHIFT key again.
