AutoCAD LAYOFF & LAYON commands allow for easy management of temporary layer visibility adjustments.
You can access these commands through the Ribbon:
Home - Layers - LAYOFF
Or by simply typing LAYOFF on your keyboard.
You will be prompted to select the Layer you want to turn off or enter the Layer's name. The Layer will instantly turn off when you select it.
If you turn off the wrong Layer, ctrl + z will undo the last selection, or U + Enter as indicated in the command dialog.
Home - Layers - LAYON
Or by simply typing LAYON on your keyboard.
LAYON will only turn ON all previously Off layers. It will not Unfreeze or Unlock objects.
If you have a Layer you want to remain Off, you can control the Layers through the Layer Properties.
While working on a project, I may need to temporarily turn off small accessories or text to grab a Snap Point or to minimize visual distractions and focus better on what's important.

This brings back great memories of using AutoCAD layers to quickly simplify and isolate what I want to look at when viewing a drawing or model.
