Is it just me or my setup or does anyone else experience the tutorials referring to items not shown and commands not working as stated?
Pretty frustrating when trying to learn!
I don't have a 'Raster' menu item but I do have a 'Raster Tools' tab on the ribbon where I can usually find an icon to do what the lesson refers to.
The Despecle lesson lesson states to use 0.01 as the size of speckles to remove - this erases periods and dashes, etc. I find that 0.002 works fairly well for the example drawing.
Good thing they came out with 2016 already, will 2017 come out in 2016? (Sorry, I just installed 2015 Ver. - I had just installed 2014 a month before). I think I'm ready for 2018 but by then they will probably do away with the numbering system and started calling the versions by animal names or something!

Perhaps part of the confusion is because the tutorial was written from a vanilla autocad perspective and Civil 3D menus are Civil 3D specific. Nonetheless I am enjoying learning about the Raster Design program as it simplifies, from what I've figured out so far, a lot of things that I have been doing manually. I'm just getting to the good stuff.
I see that the only info on the Autodesk site is for 2010 and 2012 versions of Raster Design. Why they title the Help file contents as "2015" is beyond me - rush to market or this is a defunct product no longer supported? To me "2015" means that it should work and reference menus and dialogues that you see in the 2015 version. Go figure. Bigger fish to fry probably.
