Recognize text

New to raster design so bare with me.  I've attached a tif, inverted, changed color depth to binomial then go to recognize text.  Nothing happens, except for sometimes it pops up my open chrome browser.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is an old thread but I'm new to Raster too and I saw a class on AU this year and got into it a little. I found there are some touch-up tools that can help. I noticed that if you zoom in on the text in CAD there are lots of black pixels within the text, for this particular tiff, with I think is throwing off the OCR, so I used the bitonal filter->thicken (1 pass), and that got rid of the black pixels and the OCR worked much better.
