Hi Brendan. Electrical schematics of that nature are graphically fairly simple typically, so AutoCAD LT would be fine, however there might be compelling reasons to use AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical. AutoCAD LT is regular AutoCAD stripped of the programming and 3D capabilities. This does not mean that LT is not easily used for schematic work. I know that AutoCAD LT provides users with some simple dynamic blocks and one palette full of them is electrical symbols which should provide a good starting point for you to create whatever you need. I'm pretty sure someone offers an AutoCAD LT electrical library of dynamic blocks which might take things to a more productive level. Regular AutoCAD can be added onto with many program menus and libraries geared to electrical design and many solutions are out there already that can be bought and a few free ones exist as well I'm sure. AutoCAD Electrical is at the high end of what you would want having a lot of added functionality to code circuits and mange them in a database and much more than regular AutoCAD or LT can do. You could always download AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Electrical and test them for 30 days to see which one suits your needs the best. Hope this helps.
