Does AutoCAD desktop work with Google Drive and does it include the web app ?

smorrison1

We have AutoCAD 2015 but are moving to using a cooperate Google Drive account for file storage.  It looks like the latest version of AutoCAD can work with Google Drive.  My question is does the desktop version of AutoCAD work with Google Drive without having to sync our files to our PC or do you have to use the AutoCAD web app to use files stored on Google Drive ?  If you have to use the AutoCAD web app, is it included with the AutoCAD subscription or is it an additional cost ?  -Thank you

The Google desktop app will open AutoCAD drawings as if they were on a network drive with a mapped "G" drive. I do not believe AutoCAD supports native Google drive without the desktop app.

I use this and it is mostly fine (the Google drive keeps dropping off but I suspect this is down to our IT setup).

Following, I would really like to be able to save straight to my Google Drive, which I can then share a link directly with collaborators.

@smorrison1   Self test to confirm 100% before you commit: grab the free 30-day trial version of the latest AutoCAD and test in detail on your PC(s) with your files in a (or your) Google Drive to see if you even like it or not.

AutocadWEB is included with the subscription.
