Working same project on (2) different servers

I am looking for a way to share a Plant 3D project between (2) office. Each office has its own server. This project will need to be shared/combined into a single project for model review, ortho creation, and iso creation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a good guide to get started.

If you have any means of internet connection between these offices and you can see each others files, this is easily doable. Document attached already should explain everything. However if for any reason you cannot share files, than you have a problem.

I am currently in situation, where UK office cannot allow US office to access our servers for "export" issues. On top of this we have another problem with slow connection. As a result we work on two separate copies of the same project and virtually exchange drawings over DropBox Smiley Wink

You really should be looking at Vault then. It'll be your one source of files, and with replication now you won't need to download from another country, you can have your local vault and the repllication (of the vault and SQL Server) will happen in the background.

Do NOT dropbox to allow people to work on the sand project at the same time. You can't file sync a database without losing information.

If the offices are close, you can use SQL server. If not, you'll need to look at vault unless managing adding and removing files manually is something you want to entertain.

I would love to go with Vault BUT my company doesn't want to hear about Vault Pro, so nothing you can do here... at least on my end Smiley Frustrated

We use dropbox but don't synch. I was very against the idea, but issues with UK-US export plus slow connection killed everything. As a result we work on two separte projects and get all our work into Navis federated model. Not ideal solution but no other options were/are available at the time.

Thanks for the material/info. It is very helpful. Looks like the Vault is our best option.

Unfortunately, Dropbox is not an option. We have very strict IT guidelines. Thanks for the input though.
