Weld Number type to string

Hi,

I need to write a alphabetic char for some welds, unfortunately I am not doing well. In the project settings, the value "Weld Number" is set as "string". If I adding value to text box "weld number" in "properties" after confirmation the software does not accept the "string" it reurns previous value (integer). Maybe is defined Properties textbox as only integer, or database column. Is it possible add alphabetic char to some "Weld Number"? By the way it is not possible even in "Data manager".
